Arianna Kong's Final Assessment (Report Card)

For my final mark to have on my report card I know that I deserve and A because of many the  things that I feel like I have accomplished many goals throughout my grade nine year compared to my grade eight year. Here are my many reasons on why I deserve this grade using the Four Pillars to provide these evidences. Let's start off with the first pillar, Participation. Though the years of grade nine I feel like I have participated not only physically but mentally as well. For example when we play capture the flag or ultimate I put all my efforts and skill into the game, not only am I physically into the game but I think of many strategies on how to get the flag or frisbee on my side to win or get points. Throughout every PE day for the whole year I have only missed one or two days of P.E because I was sick but other than that I have a perfect attendance. Every P.E day I am always prepared by bring my gym strip to class and being ready on time to do fitness or choice on the days I don't have fitness. To tell you the truth I really don't like games (for example California kickball) where you have to up one by one because I have major stage fright and I feel the pressure on myself because I see my team doing great and here I am letting my team down by doing terrible. I joined dance to try and get over my stage fright but it only seems to be working just a tiny bit. That is why I don't like participating in these types of games but I try my hardest for my team because I don't want to let them down by not doing it at all. My motivation behind on what sport I pick during choice days are what I feel comfortable doing and my skill level with it. Although I have to improve on leaning new sports that I have no idea how to play so that I don't get bored all the time with the sport I regularly play. The next pillar I will be providing evidence from is my Social Responsibility and Contribution to the class. Every P.E class I always set a goal for myself to do great and try my hardest to finish. When I don't finish (accomplish) my goals I try and improve my ways to train harder and find a way to make it easier while having fun. Whenever I work with peers I always encourage and help them work harder to achieve their own goals to make them feel accomplished and they do the same for me. It helps me get motivated to do my best and try my hardest. Whenever we finish with any game or fitness activity I always try and help clean up and put away all the equipment just to help the teachers and students so it wouldn't make anything hard for them if they had to be in a hurry. Whenever it is choice (or any class game) and fitness day I always keep a positive attitude even if it's something I don't want to do, because not only does it help me get more motivated it also changes the attitude for my peers as well. Every time we have fitness I am always honest with what I get. For example every time we do the beep test I'm always honest with my score (it's always 7.5 for some reason) because you can actually see it throughout my body, if it's because you can see the sweat on my face or even if it's my hard breathing I know I have tried my best to accomplish this goal while being honest with what I have received. I'm honest with my scores because I have worked hard for them to begin with. The third pillar that I will providing information on is Healthy Living. To be honest with you during my past and even now I have a huge sweet tooth meaning I can eat anything unhealthy, which is never good. I always try my best to eat healthy as much as possible because not only does it help me throughout my fitness days it also helps me live a strong, happy and healthy life. I can say I have improved with my eating healthy habits (with a little help from my mom) and have learned to discipline myself when it comes to eating unhealthy food. My fitness scores like I have mentioned earlier for the beep test is a 7.5. I feel very happy with my scores although I know that I can do better. These scores help me understand that I need to exercise and be outdoors more. Every fitness day I have noticed that I have and still am getting netter which makes me very happy. I've gotten better at the pond run, hill run, beep test and even the community run (even though it was a shortened version). This tells me that I can accomplish anything when I put all my hard work and efforts into each and everyone of the fitness activities. Even if it's not fitness days I still like to try my absolute best and more importantly have fun. Throughout my two years of high school I have noticed my limitations when it cam to P.E fitness. Every time we did the locomotion I always feel sick to my stomach but I try and push through to the end. It gets hard with my limitations but I know with my peers help and support as well as my own motivation I know that I can and will push through it until the end. For my overall future plans with my healthy living I know that I have some things that I need to work on. For example I future fitness score goals. For the beep test I would love to get something over the 7.5 range and try to test how far I can push my body to go. I would also love to improve my eating healthy habits more as well. Lastly the final pillar I will be going through with you is the Reflective Skills. I feel like through my two years of high school I have explained myself without my many blogs and I feel like I have made a great progress while learning about myself as well. I feel like I can set up my goals just by looking back to see what I have said, done and what you gave me feed back on to determine my goals. All in all I feel like I do deserve an A and will keep deserving this grade by doing the best I can, working to meet my goals and accomplishing them with my friends, family and peers by my side.

Arianna Kong's March Interim Report

Throughout this year I've learned a lot about myself when it comes to learning new things in class or my fitness. In this year I've learned that I've improved with my fitness levels highly. For example when it comes to the beep test or the pond run. When it came to those improvements it was because of my friends and family support, my healthy eating, my motivation and learning to pace myself. There so many other things that helped me improve my fitness level and my activeness too. My healthy eating has improved, which help me stay healthy and fit throughout the fitness days. My motivation increased as well, so when I feel like giving up I always motivate myself to keep going and do it to the best of my ability. My friends also motivate me to do my best and keep going and I do the same for them. I support my friends and peers when they are about to give up on what they are doing and tell them that they can do it. I'll always be supportive and understanding with them when things are getting really tough. My family supports me with the decisions I make and tell me what I should try out for, whether it would be the basketball team, kickboxing/karate, badminton or the hip hop team. They are always behind me one hundred percent and I with them and my friends. When I have P.E I'm always early to class by going after I eat my lunch and getting changed into my gym strip. I'm never late unless I'm away or at an appointment. I also come prepared and ready to go. I'm getting stronger and faster in P.E with fitness days, and I'm always up for any challenge even thought I complain about it. As I have said in many blogs I love hard challenges because it motivates me and my body even more to achieve and learn things about my brain and body. As we all know the mind is as important as our body, just like the saying, mind over matter. Whenever it's fitness and I see that we have a hard challenge I just go for it but I've learned to pace myself so that I don't tire out. Also when I work hard in fitness I feel sick in the stomach on certain fitness challenges, for example the loco loco motion. It kills my stomach but I just keep motivating myself and always think that I'm letting people down by giving up and it's not fair to some. Even though I'm supposed to tell a teacher I have my friends/peers, and myself to motivate me through those kinds of times. Throughout this course I would like to see some new activities when it comes to non-fitness days because I feel like we do choice a lot instead to our own class or our class mixed with another class type of activities. In my opinion I feel like choice is getting a bit old and boring but if there were new activities then it can be fun. Lastly I would like to share my personal goals with you. My first goal is to keep getting more exercise and doing more outside sports, my next goal is to expand my healthy food choices and try new foods, my third goal is to keep being a good influenced leader from my friends and peers and my last goal (even though I have so much more, although I can't put it on here otherwise it would be way to long) is too just have fun and try new things whether it would be in school or not. All in all I would want a G as my grade because I feel like I have improved a lot and I feel like I deserved it.

Semester-End and Final Assessment Blog Post- Arianna Kong

Over the past couple months of the first semester starting from September I've learnt so much about myself and my physical abilities. Last year I was struggling with some of the fitness activities but this year I improved so much. Yet again with the beep test I've gotten a 7.5 like the last time but I'm trying to improve my fitness level so I will be trying to reach for something over that score. During the pond run last year I always had to stop for a breath and feel tired because I would run very fast that I had forgotten to pace myself but this year I've mastered the pacing and have gotten better because I've had to stop once or twice for a breather or to tie my shoelace. For my active abilities at home I still need to improve them but I've been trying to be active everyday and I'm happy to say it's been getting better. So has my healthy eating. My parents (mostly my mom) has been trying to get me to eat healthier and have less unhealthy food because like I have said before, I have a very big sweet tooth. All in all I have been eating healthier with all the vegetables and fruits my mom has laid out. I for one think I have a good leadership because I help my peers and myself to work hard and try our best on fitness days by encouraging them and myself every step of they way and when were about to give up. My friends do the same for me as I do for them. It always builds a stronger bond between us. My friends and family are always encouraging with my decisions and supports what I'm doing. For example when I want to try out for a sport I'm interested in they're always there to support me and help me through the experience. I always do the same thing with my friends and family and that makes me very proud to know that I'm one of the supporters in their lives. In future fitness days I would like to see my improvements with my physical ability here in school and outside of school because i want to live a healthy life and have a challenge. I've always loved challenges because they are hard to do. When they are hard to do it tells me weather I've improved or not by my bodies actions. Throughout this year I would like to see more new partner and singular activities because I would like to see and help others improve and to also find another persons abilities that are very similar to mine. Even though I have a partner with different physical abilities, it's really fun to experience because it's one of many challenges I would like to face. I hope in future fitness days and years I would love to see many improvements because I've worked so hard to accomplish them. I've gotten better with push ups, my running and other activities we've done throughout the year hat I'm really proud of accomplishing. I will accomplish this everyday for the rest of my life and hope to find better improvements with old and new things that needed to be improved. I will never give up on anything even if I feel under the weather cause then I know that the next time will be even better. In the end I would love to receive and A grade because I feel that in all my posts I have explained a lot about my fitness levels and everything that I have tried and pushed throughout my two years in Sullivan Heights Secondary.

Arianna's Fitness Blog #1

Throughout the beginging of last year I thought that P.E was a nightmare only when it came to fitness because I had never experienced this type of physical education throughtout my elementary years. This year I'm willing to change that because I know what to do, how to pace myself when it comes to the running, how to be a great influence and be a leader when it comes to these fitness days etc. Last year when it came to my fitness I had thought i did well when it came to my beep test and other fitness scores but this year when I had done my beep test I and the other fitness activities I found out that I improved greatly. My fitness scores last year were in the five's section but this year I got up two and a half then last time (7.5). I feel very proud that i did this and i hope to get up higher next time. I feel that I interact with my new peers greatly by showing and helping them out throughtout this year. I also encourage my peers to do the best they can in fitness and I also encourage myself to do the best i can too. In class I'm always prepared with the right gym strip so that I'm always ready to go. When it comes to leadership I feel like I'm a great leader in class because I help my peers out when they need it and support them too. When they're about to give up I keep on encouraging them to not give up and try their best even when they can't do it anymore I'm still happy for them cause they did it to the best of their abilities. On my skill development I think I've improved because I know how to monitor my pace and motivate myself, also practice on things that I have to improve on. My commitments to my after school activies are in the middle because I'm very busy with many things that i forget to tell my mom to inrole me in some sports that I want to do (tennis, kickboxing etc.) but when I do have time i go outside and play basketball, street hockey etc with my brother and friends in our neighbourhood. My dietary chocies are coming down because I have a BIG sweet tooth but that never stops me because my loving mother always encourages me to eat healthy. It will help me on the fitness days and make it a whole lot easier. Like I have said last year, whenever i feel sick because I've pushed myself to much I dont quit or try and tell the teacher because that gives me the sign saying that I've quit on myself, now I know that's really bad but it just feels like I would give up on the fitness and it wouldn't be fair to my peers if I had quit. In P.E I enjoy hanging out with my peers and the thing I would like to see changed is more games with the other classes so not only am I interacting with my peers but I'm also interacting with my other peers from the other classes. Lastly I would like to talk about my personal plans and goals. For my personal plans and goals I would love to be more fit, eat healthy and have more outside activities because I think it'll help me more in life. These are all the things I feel like I wish and have accomplished throughtout the begining of my grade 9 year so far.

Arianna Kong's grade 8 active learning blog post

Throughout this year I've achieved so many things that I couldn't achieve in the starting of the year.  I have learned all the things about being fit and active but to never think about that a lot but to just have fun doing it.  For me, I think that my fitness level has greatly improved everything and I really proud of it.  Whenever I feel sick to the stomach because I don't eat a lot of breakfast ( the most important meal of the day, which is not good that's don't eat a lot ) or have some pains I always push myself to never quit because if I did it would mean I have given up.  I never tell anyone which I know is bad but I never want to sit out I will always push my self even if it hurts.  I also push my peers to do their best to achieve what I have achieved to be their best and live a long life.  Being fit and healthy doesn't always mean you have to be active you also have to eat healthy foods to live a along life too.  On fitness days I've learned to not quit even if your brain and body tell you that you need to quit just push yourself a little more.  Sometimes I have my down days when I'm not that fit and active  but I pick myself up all over again.  I have been learning a lot throughout this year and I have achieved my goals being fit, active, healthy and to just have fun while doing it with my friends.  I've been pushing myself so much this year and have been improving a lot with fitness days.  My leadership with my friends are at a perfect level because i push them to do their best but to always have fun.  The things I need to improve are to eat a little bit more healthier and be a little bit more active both in and out of school.  I think the grade I deserve is an A but I always think I deserve a B because I don't think I do my best although my peers think I do because I always push myself even when I'm not feeling 100%.  I always want to improve my brain and body with my own leadership to push myself to the best of my ability without giving up on my self when my body and brain want too.    Not only do I push my friends but they also push me to never give up too and I'm very thankful to have them by my side.  This is all the proof I need for you to know that I really want to achieve my goals, be healthy and happy while doing it and to always have fun!  This year has been one of the best first years in high school thank you Mr. Vaughan.
